Thanks for looking at our Venue, we hope you like what you see so far. We offer a fresh and fun take of the typical wedding or event venue, there's no booking in for an 8 hour slot, no compulsory cleaning up before you go home at night. We offer a truly stress free, low pressure environment so you can concentrate solely on your occasion and not the conditions of the venue itself. When you come to Valley of Peace you get just that, peace!

A. Yes, we welcome you to have your wedding ceremony here at Valley of Peace. We have many options for a ceremony setting and you can take you pick.
A. Yes, we have 100 brand new inside chairs and 30 outside chairs plus new tables and best of all they are all included in the hire fee.
Q. What time does the Valley of Peace open and what time do you close.
A. We open at 10:00am each morning of your hire and run through to around 11:00pm at night. We like to shut our doors at 11:45pm.
A. When you hire Valley of Peace Venue you get the exclusive use of the Valley of Peace Venue & facilities for the day prior for set up, the day of your event and the day after for the tidy up. Effectively you pay for 1 day and we through in the best part of 2 days extra at no extra charge you, so theres no need to rush at Valley of Peace. Tables, Chairs, Lights on Dance floor, Mood lighting, Sound system, Bar area, lounge, Outside floodlighting for night-time fun, Tree lighting, Heating, Toilets, Car parking, Photo venues, Fun and much more....
A. We can seat 90 to 100 people in the main area but depending on just how you want to set up your event we can increase these numbers up to 120 people for seated occasions.
A. Yes we have a fully professional sound system that will provides music to all the rooms at Valley of Peace. This system runs a total 12 speakers throughout the venue providing clean, clear and wonderful sound. It can be used with CD, Ipod, MP3 and 4, DJs and and Duke boxs. It is a required condition of hire that the system is used as the sole provider of sound at the Valley of Peace Venue.
A. Sorry but we dont allow live bands at Valley of Peace anymore however DJ's are welcome when plugged into of in house sopund system. We have strick sound limits in the Valley of Peace and so making sure that your live music stays within Christchurch City Council limits is of paramount importance. Failure to do so will see the termination of the function. So we ask that ALL music including Ipods, DJs etc are plugged into the Venue sound system. This is a fully professional system and provides balanced sound throughout the venue with the ability to control volume individually in each room. Using this system is a requirement of hire.
A. Yes, we are a one-stop shop, you can get married, have you photos and wedding breakfast all in the surrounding of Valley of Peace. There's no need to travel long distances to other photo locations. However there are some stunning locations in and around the Valley of Peace Venue. The Halswell Quarry is 2 mins drive from the Venue and provides excellent rustic back drops.
A. No, we are 100% BYO for both food and alcohol. We have a list of top quality caterers the are used at the venue. We can introduce you to them so that you get a level of service that you deserve for you special day or occasion. We dont allow caterers outside of our approved list. Please ask Greg & Rachael for a list of our caterers. Starting in 2013 we are introducing a very small corkage fee for the serving of your beverage but have no fear its only a very small fee.
A. Its easy! Come out for a visit and we can show you around, we'll give you our booking form to complete. Return it to Greg or Rachael with a deposit either by cheque or directly into the account provided and your date is secured! Just email us and we can send you out the "Terms & Conditions" booking form.
A. All you need to do is select a Caterer from out list and arrange your Alcohol. Table and glass-ware generally can be arranged via your caterers and we can liaise with you and your service providers and make your event simple, easy and above all FUN!
