About Us

Valley of Peace Alpaca Stud is located on the east coast of New Zealand's South Island, there we are nestled into the hills surrounding New Zealand's third largest city, Christchurch. Just minutes from the city centre we are easily accessible to international visitors, enthusiasts and locals alike.

Valley of Peace Alpaca Stud is a family business established by Greg and Rachael Graham in 1997. Our investment started when we saw these new and somewhat unusual animals at a local show 5 years before, we fell in love with alpacas at first sight and decided to invest. With over 20 years in New Zealand's sheep industry we were able to adjust to farming alpacas quickly, now we are able to confidently provide the serious breeder, long-term investor and hobby farmer, with what only can be termed as world-class alpacas.

Our aim is to selectively breed and create truly superior alpacas, we are dedicated to breeding with superior bloodlines from all over the world but with a real focus on Accoyo and Rural Alianza lines as our base. We now specialize in Accoyo bloodlines in our Huacaya, introducing the 100% Pure "Royal Accoyo line" in 2002, and have also concentrated our efforts on the rarest alpaca of all, the Suri and have now become a leader in both the Suri breed and Huacaya breed alpaca in New Zealand.
In cooperation with other large breeders throughout New Zealand, Australian Europe and Peru we offer you premium alpacas of elite show winning quality and advise, plan and support you in any type of breeding program to further enhance your herd. We offer in our stock the most famous bloodlines.
Valley of Peace Alpaca Stud has become one of the most successful studs in all of New Zealand. To date we have won more National Supreme Titles than any other stud and remain the only new Zealand stud to win Supreme National titles in Huacaya, Suri breed classes and also Fleece classes.
Our years of experience and a genuine love and enthusiasm for Alpacas makes us an ideal choice for your introduction to alpacas or further herd development. We recommend a farm visit if you are just starting out - there's nothing like seeing these animals 'in the flesh' to appreciate how special and unique they are.
